Manhattan Beach resident Ronald Balmayne, 76, pled guilty to one count of lewd act upon a child, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office.
He was convicted of this count and sentenced to three years in state prison.
Manhattan Beach detectives investigated Balmayne after a crime report was filed in July, for the sexual molestation of female children from 1981 to 2002. The police had identified three victims – at the time of the crimes, the victims ranged from 5 to 11 years old, said Stephanie Martin, the Manhattan Beach Police Department’s press information officer.
Balmayne has lived in Manhattan Beach for 20 years.
