Mira Costa’s Velvin, Vazquez win Manhattan Beach Roundhouse 5K

Mira Costa High runners  Thomas Velvin and Julia Vazquez were the top male and female finishers in Saturday’s 7th Annual Roundhouse Aquarium 5K Fun Run. Velvin finished in 18:28 and Vazquez in 23:16. Over 100 runners participated in the race, which starts on the north side of the Manhattan Beach Pier and goes out and back along the hard sand. Runners benefited from a low tide and clear, cool sky

After the race, runners were offered free massages from Calcopa, oranges, energy bars, and water from KIND, coupons from Gelson’s and West Basin and raffle prizes.

Race sponsors were: Gold: Chevron and Skechers; Silver: Forbes Corrales Real Estate and Continental Development; Bronze: Aldrich & Turkmany Insurance, Regatta Capital Group, Gelson’s, War Machine, Bayview Pediatric Dental Group, and Michael Lee Architects.
