On December 14, 2022, two years after his passing at age 89, Air Force Major Frank Brown, Retd. was interned with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. The service was delayed because of the pandemic. Brown was stationed in Europe and in Southeast Asia during his 21 years of service. He became a familiar figure on the Peninsula as society editor of the Palos Verdes News. Following the playing of taps, and a 21 gun salute, Pat Brown, his wife of 65 years, was presented with a folded funeral flag. “In life, he honored the flat. Now the flag honors him,” Air Force Chaplain Ben Shelton said in presenting the American flat to his wife. ER
