Cancer Support Community South Bay (CSC South Bay) held its18th annual Girls Night Out “fun-raiser” at the Neptunian Woman’s Club in Manhattan Beach on October 12-14 in support of women who have been affected by cancer. The 3-night event generated $180,000 for free support programs for cancer patients and their loved ones. This event was brought back by popular demand after being put on hold for two years due to the pandemic. The Neptunian Woman’s Club, a new venue for the event, was bedazzled in pink, as were the nearly 400 ladies sporting pink boas, wigs, and tiaras. Each evening kicked off with a festive cocktail hour featuring signature pink drinks, tasty appetizers, and a selection of curated raffle packages, and live auction items emceed by comedian Sean Leary .The live auction included a special appearance by Redondo Beach Fire Captain Curt Mahoney who helped auction a dinner, and fire patrol boat cruise for four. Other prizes included Carrie Underwood concert tickets, private jet dream vacations to Mammoth, and Mexico ,and shopping experiences at The Point in El Segundo.
