Weatherman blesses King Harbor Boat Parade [PHOTOS]

Credit has to go to Fox 11 weatherman and Redondo Beach resident Rick Dickert for the success of Saturday night’s 19th Annual King Harbor Yacht Club Holiday Boat Parade. Last year, heavy winds pushed two boats onto the rocks. The year before it rained. But this year, with Dickert as grand marshal, the weather was clear and balmy. Lipstick, skippered by Carolyn Currier of Catalina Crusing won the Sweepstake Award The Best Lighting award went to Hydrotherapy skippered by Bruce Honer and the Best Sailboat award went to Pascal’s Wager, skippered by Lee and Lorraine Coller Other award winners were: Execution of Theme Voice of Reason skippered by Mike Verla; Best Costumes Summer Wind skippered by Gary Lehto; Best Animation Hideout skippered by Kevin Herink and Mike Williams; Best Power Boat Danny Boy II skippered by Sam Edgerton; and Best in Fleet won by the Catalina Cruising Fleet.
