South Bay Boardriders present Big Wave Challenge awards at Hermosa Beach Theater

Members and friends of the the South Bay Boardriders Club filled the Hermosa Beach Community Theater for the club’s annual Big Wave Challenge Awards night on Wednesday, May 24. Nominees Flavio Pirez, Angel Luhrsen, Tracey Meistrell Alex Gray and Trevor LaShure were called to the stage.
Nutrition entrepreneur Morton coaches young entrepreneurs

American Martyr’s sixth grader Isabelle Hory finished 8th out of nearly 100 regional finalists at the YEA national scholarship championships, held May 5 at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Hory invented a device she calls Gimmieboost. Hory is a member of the 2016-17 Young Entrepreneurial Class, sponsored by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce.
