As you walk into The Grain Café in Redondo, you see a large painted and carved image of a Mayan
Pier Plaza was filled with families on New Year’s Eve for the 9 p.m. Beach Ball Drop, which coincides with the Ball Drop in New York City’s Time Square. At midnight the Plaza filled up again for a second Beach Ball Drop celebrating the start of the New Year in California.
Neighbors on 16th Street in Hermosa Beach celebrated the 30th Annual New Year’s Day Polar Bear Swim on Wednesday, under the watchful eyes of Los Angeles County Lifeguards.
