Notice inviting Bids

SEALED BIDS will be received at the Office of the City Clerk, 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, California until 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for performing work as follows:

STORM DRAIN CATCH BASIN MAINTENANCE SERVICES

The bid shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the City Clerk, City of Hermosa Beach, 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254, and shall be identified on the lower left corner of the envelope “Sealed Bid – STORM DRAIN CATCH  BASIN MAINTENANCE.” Note that City Hall is open 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday; closed Friday.

No bid shall be considered unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the Director of Public Works.

Specifications, instructions to bidders, proposal, contract, general and special provisions may be obtained at the office of the Director of Public Works, City of Hermosa Beach or on the City’s website at http://www.hermosabch.org/index.aspx?page=667 starting on Thursday, January 29, 2015.

A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2015, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at City Council Chambers, 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach. All questions will be answered at this meeting.  Any additional questions regarding this bid must be submitted in writing on or before 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 to Ells Freeman, via email to lzeigler@hermosabch.org or phone at (310) 318-0222. It is the responsibility of the bidder to inquire as to the issuance of any addenda prior to the submittal of bid.

A business license is required to do contracting work in the City of Hermosa Beach.

The City of Hermosa Beach reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity or informality in any bid to the extent permitted by law.

The City of Hermosa Beach reserves the right to award any portion or combination of the bid items in this specification.

The City of Hermosa Beach reserves the right to delete any item of the bid or to increase quantities/frequencies in any bid item after awarding the contract.

                      ONE NEW 6KW MOBILE LIGHT TOWER


Notice is hereby given that the City of Hermosa Beach will receive sealed bids at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 1315 Valley Dr., Hermosa Beach, CA 90254, until 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015  submitted bids shall read “Light Tower Bid” on outside of bid document.       

General Specifications:  6 KW Mobile Light Tower

Four 1,000 watt high pressure sodium flood lights

  1. 390 degree rotation capability
  2. 30 foot tall steel mass
  3. 4 point outriggers
  4. 4- stroke diesel engine
  5. 120-240 volt convenience receptacles
  6. Standard trailer with tow hitch and  DOT running light package
  7. Must have a minimum of two year warranty

The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid received and to be the sole judge of the merits of the respective bids received.  The award, if made, will be made to the lowest responsible bidder.

It shall be the bidder’s responsibility to inquire for any addenda/updates to this RFP prior to submitting their bid. Complete bid specifications and the required bid sheet can be obtained on the City’s website at http://www.hermosabch.org/index.aspx?page=667.

All questions regarding this bid, including data substantiating a request for substitution of an “or equal” item, shall be submitted in writing to the email address shown below on or before 3:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2015 to the Project Manager.
