Before the Mall of America was built in the midwest, Del Amo Fashion Center, at 2.6 million square feet, was the biggest shopping center in the U.S. It boasts over 200 stores, a glut of restaurants and cafes and the 18-screen AMC movie theater. It’s also made its way onto the silver screen: The Del Amo was a central location and plot element of the Quentin Tarantino film “Jackie Brown” and was prominently featured in “Valley Girl” and “Bad Santa.” The open-air mall is only expanding: they welcomed the brand new Patio Cafes, a garden-inspired dining pavilion in the heart of the shopping center. New retailers such as Billabong, Oakley, Teavana, Quiksilver-DC-Roxy, 100% Pure, The Disney Store, Finish Line featuring Nike Track Club, and many more are now open. Construction of a new 2-level mall, a brand new Nordstrom, and a 4-level parking structure are under way and will be open Fall 2015.
