State of the city
Mayor Carolyn Petty will deliver the annual State of the City Address in downtown Hermosa Thursday evening.
The event is free to attend and will take place at the Beach House, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. After an introduction by local musician Jeremy Buck, Mayor Petty will begin speaking about 7:15 p.m. A reception will follow.

The Woman’s Club of Hermosa Beach hosts its 10th Annual Adrienne’s Search for Children’s Cancer Cure, sponsored by Don McVicar, Re/Max Realty and benefiting Walk With Sally – One Child at a Time, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Kiwanis Hall, 2515 Valley Drive. Hermosa Beach. Entertainment by Feed The Kitty and Jack Tracy, magician from the Magic Castle, catered dinner by Rafael Solorzano, silent auction, with Hollywood Star of Magic Sisuepahn “Silk” Phily. All ages are welcome. Tickets are $35, and are tax-deductible. Kids 12 and under receive free admission.
