Redondo Beach has appointed a new waterfront and economic development director.
Greg Kapovich arrives from the City of Lomita, where he worked as its community and economic development director. He replaces Stephen Proud, who retired in December.
“The waterfront is in a period of visioning, planning and physical transformation,” City Manager Mike Witzansky said. “Greg has worked for a diverse set of communities and developed an excellent track record completing complex planning efforts.”
Kapovich has 16 years’ experience in city planning and development, including at the cities of Walnut Creek, Las Vegas and Moreno Valley.
His education includes a degree in Public Administration from Regis University in Denver. He and his wife, Vanessa, have two young children and live in Huntington Beach. ER
