Taking photos is always a great experience, but it’s way more fun when doing it with others.
Or, as I’ve been known to say, you can see a lot more with four eyes than you can with two.
I host a series called PhotowalksTV on YouTube that takes viewers with me to great places, as if we were on a photowalk together of an area, looking for great photo opps. An outgrowth of the series is meeting people and taking them with me in person. Over the last 2 years, I’ve met folks in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, downtown Los Angeles, Venice Beach, San Francisco (Fort Point, Mission District, the Ferry Building) Palm Springs and Flagstaff, Arizona on group photowalk events.
Thursday, July 21 is the next event, in downtown Hermosa Beach. We’ll meet at the Surf Statue at 7 p.m., and spend an hour or so taking photos together. I’ll show off some of my favorite smartphone photography tips as well. Sign up for the event on Eventbrite:

Attendees have told me how much they enjoyed the outings.
“To see (Venice Beach) through a photographer’s eyes is so much fun,” said Allen Kirschenbaum of Manhattan Beach. “To look at the murals and decide how to record them photographically was a blast.”
“I learned a lot and look to come back again for sure,” said Janette Speyer of Los Angeles.
