Following last year’s inaugural “Let it Snow, Redondo,” which drew over 3,500 people to Seaside Lagoon, Community Services Officer Shawn Freeman vowed, “Next year, we’ll bring in more snow.”
Fortunately, Officer Freeman was good to his word because an even larger crowd attended the second annual “Let it Snow, Redondo” on Saturday, December 3.
The day featured sledding, snowball fights, photos with Santa, cookies and hot chocolate. The festival was hosted by the Redondo Beach Police Department. Throughout the day, RBPD Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program held its Toy, Coat & Gift Card drive, in partnership with the City of Redondo Beach Community Services Department. On hand to help push kids down the sled hill and servie refreshments were the Redondo Unified High School Junior ROTC, and the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets, South Bay Division.
