A humpback whale was found trying to disentangle itself from a fishing net, and buoy off of Palos Verdes, and the Redondo Canyon in July, 2024. Mauricio Tassara sent video of its efforts to the NOAA Marine Mammal disentanglement team, which found the humpback off of Orange County.
