Manhattan Beach officials, joined by LA County Supervisor Don Knabe, broke ground Thursday on the new library scheduled for completion by 2015. Guest speakers included the county Librarian, Margaret Donnellan Todd, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, Manhattan Beach Mayor David Lesser and the Director of the Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Works Gail Farber.
