In honor of Earth Day, Kinecta will host a free ShredFest, from 9 a.m.- noon at 1440 Rosecrans Avenue, Manhattan Beach. SIERRA CLUB MEETING

The Sierra Club invites you to “Sex and the City Zoo” a presentation by Muriel Horacek. Muriel is a naturalist who has traveled extensively in Aruba, Peru, Benghazi, Libya and Brussels, Belgium. In the past 15 years she has done 20 natural history/birding trips to India, Papua New Guinea, and Peru. Her presentation will talk about the challenges of trying to assure the survival of threatened species, transferring animals between zoos to avoid inbreeding, and the surprises that occur. The mischief part is mostly the antics of orangutans, from 7 – 9 p.m. at Community Room of the Palos Verdes Library, 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates (entrance also on Deep Valley Dr).
