The Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach and South Bay restaurateur Michael Franks managed to raise upwards of $20,000 at an Undiscovered Chefs event at Chez Melange earlier this month. Eighteen student chefs were treated to a day of culinary education, which ended with them preparing cuisine for 150 guests. The proceeds will fund the group’s free monthly support programs for cancer patients and their loved ones. For more information, visit www.cancersupportredondobeach.org.
