Walk for a cause

LA Torch Relay for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals will be held at MiramarParkat 8 a.m. on Oct. 22. The event is a country-wide event that travels to 29 cities. The Redondo event will include a 5k run/walk. For more information visit www.Torch-Relay.org/LA

Art classes for kids

The SeventhSenseArtGallerywill be offering unique art classes for kids age 4-18 starting Oct., 24. The classes will give children the opportunity to create eco-friendly sculptures, duct tape creations, wood working and more traditional offerings with a youthful spin. Hearing voices

The Redondo Beach Public Library in partnership with the California Center for the Book will be hosting a series of book discussions that will focus on the different voices found in the book and in particular, the audiobook. The discussions will be monthly and will be held Tuesdays from 7-8 p..m. The dates and books discussed will be Oct 26 – Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer; Nov. 29 – The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery; Dec., 27 – The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett, and Jan. 31 – The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton. The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Main Library’s 2nd floor meeting room at 303 N. PCH.

Art for charity

The Redondo Beach Performing Arts center will be hosting a VIP reception with Dr. Howard Murad, CEO and founder of Murad Inc., prior to his annual charity art show, the Art of Giving, where his paintings will be auctioned and all proceeds will be donated to the charity of the buyer’s choice.
