Police have identified a suspect in the February armed robbery of a Pacific Coast Highway lingerie store.
On Tuesday, March 30 Hermosa Beach police detectives were notified of a man who had been arrested by the Burbank Police Department, who matched the description of the robber of Sassy’s lingerie store.
A Sassy’s employee subsequently identified the man, Jessie Peter Vallez Jr., 40, of Wilmington as the robber, said Hermosa Beach Police Detective Mick Gaglia.
Officers were called to Sassy’s, in the 800 block of PCH, about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, and were told that the robber had first posed as a shopper, asking an employee the price of several items.
“The suspect then approached the victim at the cash register and brandished a semi-automatic handgun while ordering her to the ground. The suspect stole money from the store’s register and also searched through the victim’s purse,” Detective Mick Gaglia said.
“The suspect ordered the victim to the rear of the store and told her, ‘If you come out, I swear I’m going to shoot you’ and left the location in an unknown direction,” Gaglia said. ER
