PV leads Bay League boys soccer teams into playoffs

Bay League champion Palos Verdes (20-1-5) is ranked No. 6 in CIF-SS Division 1 and will host Capistrano Valley (8-7-3) in the first round on Friday.

Mira Costa (13-5-2) earned a home game in the opening round and will face ML King (13-7-6).

Redondo (12-9-2) must travel to take on No. 8 Santa Barbara (18-5-3) and Peninsula (13-5-5) will play at San Clemente (10-9-5).

Second-round games will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24. Quarterfinals contests take place Friday, Feb. 26, the semifinals on Tuesday, Mar. 1 and the finals on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 4-5.

In Division 4, Pioneer League champion South Torrance (15-3-2) is ranked No. 6 and will host La Mirada (13-7-2) on Friday.

El Segundo (11-7-1) won the Ocean League championship and hosts Temecula Valley (6-7-8) in the first round. Leuzinger (10-9-1) will play at No. 5 Hart (13-4-5) and Torrance earned a wild-card berth and played Norwalk on Wednesday with the winner advancing to play at top-seeded Godinez (16-1-3) in the first round.

In Division 6, Vistamar (10-4-1) will travel to Maranatha (13-6-2) on Friday.
