Baseball

South Bay Surf will be holding its 3rd Annual “Give Back to the South Bay” baseball camp Saturday and Sunday Dec. 11-12 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Entradero Park, 5400 Towers St. in Torrance. Directed by Shame Schumaker, the camp is open to kids ages 6-14 and includes training stations for pitching, hitting, catching, infield and outfield play, base running and Plyometrics. Major league players will be on hand to answer questions and sign autographs. A silent auction will be held for memorabilia and baseball gear. Cost is $130. Running

Run, walk or baby jog along the sea at the annual Manhattan Beach Yuletide 5K on Saturday, Dec. 18. The 5K begins at 2 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach Pier followed by Kids Races at 3 p.m. Jingle Bracelets and Beachy T-Shirts to all pre-registered runners and to late registrants while supplies last. Unique Awards to the top five in all 28 age divisions. Entry fee for the 5K is $28, Kids Races are $22 (add $5 for late registration after Dec. 4). Soccer

Online registration for the Manhattan Beach Sand & Surf Soccer Winter League season is now open for boys and girls in U5, U6, U7, U8, U9, U10 and U12 divisions. The program incorporates individual skill development with small sided tactical development over a seven week season. Cost is $140 per player; Team Registration – $120 per player (Minimum of 4 players/Maximum of 8); Family Registration – $120 for families registering siblings. Registration closes Sunday. Tennis

Professional tennis players John Isner and Sam Querrey, who form the core of the US Davis Cup team, will be holding the Inaugural Charity Challenge tennis exhibition at the Manhattan Beach country Club on Sunday. Scheduled to participate are former world #1’s Lindsay Davenport and Tracy Austin along with other high profile stars to be announced. The event is set to be a unique showcase and combination of tennis and Hollywood with proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Basketball

Registration is available for boys and girls in grades K-8 who would like to participate in the National Junior Basketball league held at Hangar Athletic Xchange, 3203 Jack Northrop Ave., Hawthorne.
