American Junkie is largely responsible for the heavy bass drops that pulsate through the party scene on the Hermosa Beach Pier every Thursday night. The modernized gastro pub boasts two dance floors inside, usually pumping with high-energy beats provided by resident DJs QUASAR, Nick Jagger and Drew Pierce. It also regularly hosts guest DJs, including DJ MAKJ, DJ Lucky Lou and DJ DIK.
Live DJ sets aside, American Junkie has proven itself to the South Bay’s party-going demographic to be a proponent of the grander spectrum of dance music. Last Halloween, the pub scored a live performance by Los Angeles electro-pop duo Capital Cities, an up-and-coming indie act that has played sold-out shows across the globe with the likes of Chromeo, Grouplove and The Killers.
