Bill Bonner, 37, won the 40th Annual American Martyrs 5K on Saturday with a time of 16:22, a minute faster than last year’s winning time, and nearly a minute-and-a-half faster than his own time last year, when he finished third.

Loyola High runner Colin Jacobs, 16, finished second, in 17:17, 15 seconds faster than last year’s winning time.

Former Lebanon marathon record holder Pia Nehme, 38, was the first female finisher and third overall, in 17:34. She was followed by Lindsay Wandzilak, 32, in 17:5.

Over 700 runners competed in the race, which was followed by the First Annual American Martyrs Health Expo. The exhibits included a Ninja Nation obstacle course, which drew long lines of kids and an Active Recovery Zone tent, featuring full body compression sleeves.
