Well Mates, what a difference a month makes. Captain Larry of the bait boat out of Marina del Rey In-Seine, is now filling them bait barge wells, that’ve been empty all winter, full to the rim wit nice Sardines down King Harbor way. Yippy Skippy…
Plus, seems Cap’n Larry may even open the Fishing dock next to Polly’s on the Pier, Basin 3, on March 1. That would be if’n everything goes rite between now and then.
We can’t ask for better weather, fine seas, good swell, a bit of rain, to move the Halibut in for making babies and Calico Bass to get they colors.
Then again if Egypt flips over and gas prices go through the glass ceiling, who the heck will fill they tanks for a fishing trip anywhere?
Then again, a nice cold corona con lemon y chips and dip wit de Stuper Bowl Game this weekend would make us all feel better. Ha’mmmmmmmmm Grasshopper..
As for any fishing in the bay, here be the sit’uation — plenty of bait, good water, no fish bite inshore yet due to fish bellies being full. Hang on there, ye have plenty of time.
If’in ya own a private boat, ya needs to get that thing ready for the water. Go see Pete at Just Fishing for new line, hooks and sinkers. Fill the boat up now! Stash a few extra gallons in the yard, not the garage, so’s you don’t burn down your house or the one next door.
You may need this boat to feed yer family, if the whole dang world goes into a Wikkipeee melt down, thank you..
My good friend and fishing buddy’s dear sweet mother Beverly passed on to the other side. That’d be the mom of Captain Big John Mills of Captain Kidd’s Fish Market on Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach.
This lady was the rock, the foundation, the bookkeeper, the one you did not want to tick off if’in ya wanted to keep yer job. She stood by her man, the Big Captain of Cap’n Kidd’s, John’s dad, until his passing, then took the tiller and kept that ship a sailing.
Top this all off wit Big John having some medical problems of his own that need attention. John needs yer prayers, yer support, yer help. Go fishing at Captn Kidd’s this week whilst the fish ain’t biting in the bay.
Aargggggggggggg sez the Captain….. ER
