
The top three Bay League girls soccer teams continue their season after securing first-round wins in the CIF-southern Section Division 2 playoffs on Thursday.
Ranked No. 8 in the division, Redondo (17-7-2) recorded a 3-0 shutout against visiting Redlands. Essie Bonney, Callie Hokanson and Madi Kennel each scored a goal
Coach Shelly Marsden’s Sea Hawk squad will host No. 5 Hart (11-2-6) in the second round on Tuesday.
All games with the exception of the final round will start at 3 p.m. If lights are available at the host site, teams may play the game at 5 p.m. with approval from the CIF-SS Office.
Mira Costa (15-4-1) held off Valencia 3-2 and will travel to Newbury Park (12-4-3) on Tuesday.
Bay League champion and fifth-ranked Palos Verdes (16-6-3) scored a 3-0 victory over visiting Carter and will play at Chaparral (15-5-5) in the second round.

Peninsula (8-8-3) saw its season come to an end with a 3-0 loss at third-seeded Santiago/Corona.
In Division 3, second-seeded West Torrance (19-4-2) outscored Buena 5-2 and will host Los Altos (13-8-2) on Tuesday.
North Torrance (18-6-1) also advances with a 6-1 drubbing of visiting Knight. The Saxons will host No. 5 Warren (20-2-3) in the second round.
South Torrance (14-7-4) was eliminated by No. 8 Cypress 2-1.
In Division 4, El Segundo (13-6-4) pulled out a 2-1 double-overtime victory over host Marlborough and will host fourth-seeded Royal (17-3-5) on Tuesday.
In Division 7, No. 8 Vistamar (15-2) eliminated Pomona 5-4 and will play at No. 10 Tarbut V Torah (16-1) in the second round.
