
The 48th Annual Manhattan Beach Tennis Open attracts men and women open players, in both singles and doubles divisions, from throughout Southern California.
The Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department tournament is open to players 16 and older.
“We keep moving forward, maintaining a community-based tournament open to all levels while attracting top-notch players from outside the area,” tournament administrator Matthew Morrow said.
The tournament begins Thursday, July 16 at 9 a.m. at Live Oak Park with Open Division competition. On Friday and Saturday, July 17-18, men and women in the Open, 4.5 to 5.0, 4.0 and 3.5 and below divisions will compete at Live Oak Park and Mira Costa High School beginning at 8 a.m.
The finals will take place Sunday, July 19 at Manhattan Country Club, 1330 Parkview Ave. in Manhattan Beach beginning at 10 a.m. Prior to the Men’s Open final, a Pro/Sponsor Exhibition match will be played.
Open Division fees are $83 (singles) and $110 (doubles); amateur division $44 and $66. Price increases June 27. Deadline to register is July 6 at 5 p.m.
All entries include lunch, t-shirt and goodie bag. Prizes and trophies will be given for all division winners.

City of Manhattan Beach Tennis Camps
Begins June 22
The City of Manhattan Beach provides some of the highest quality tennis facilities to be found anywhere in the region at Mira Costa High School and Live Oak Park. Camps include Tennis with Lila Summer Camp (ages 4-9); West Coast Tennis Academy (ages 8-17); and Youth Tennis Camp.
