Photographer Gus McConnell caught up with Tyler Hatzikian and the rest of the El Segundo crew when the first big swell of El Nino 2016 arrived in the South Bay on January 6. Hatzikian paddled out at Hammerland while young new charger Noah Collins and El Segundo veterans Matt Pagan, Matt Mohagen, Chewy” Chernega and Kenny Brechtelsbauer moved up the beach to Grand Avenue.
