Tatum Cunningham wanted to tango. The 5-year-old and her mother Melissa heard about the tango flash mob beforehand and couldn’t resist checking it out.

“I was trying to explain to her what a flash mob is on the way here,” Melissa Cunningham said.

The tango flash mob was organized by two tango instructors in the South Bay, Silvia Askenazi and Ilona Glinasky.

“With tango, you use your body, brain and heart to be completely present,” Askenazi said.

“Tango allows men and women to have a blank page and start from scratch because there’s a lot of baggage we build up in life,” Glinasky said. “But when you dance, none of that matters. There’s a release and a lot of healing happens.”
