Pancake breakfast
The Hermosa Heroes Pancake Breakfast will take place at the Hermosa Fire Station Saturday morning. Organizers say the event is a chance for residents to show their appreciation of local police officers, firefighters, and lifeguards. The event is sponsored by the city of Hermosa Beach and the Hermosa View and Valley Parent-Teacher Organization. The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $10, but kids wearing Junior Lifeguard uniforms get 50 percent off at the door.
Coastal Cleanup Day
Hermosa will join coastal clean-up efforts throughout California on Saturday for the annual Coastal Cleanup Day, which the California Coastal Commission calls the state’s “largest annual volunteer event.” The Hermosa event begins at 9 a.m. at the foot of the Hermosa Pier. Meeting schedule
Instead of its typical meeting schedule on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, the Hermosa City Council will hold its first regular meeting of September next Monday, Sept. 17, in City Council Chambers at 7 p.m. The second meeting will take place as scheduled on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
