Sexual assault on beach
A woman reported that she was raped on the beach south of the pier in the early morning hours of Aug. 18, police said.Â
The woman was visiting downtown Hermosa Beach with three female friends when she met a man inside a bar and voluntarily left with him at about 1:30 a.m., police said. They consensually kissed, but the man initiated non-consensual intercourse upon her, police said.
After the victim escaped, she located her friends and contacted the police in order to submit to a sexual-assault, evidentiary medical examination, police said.
Batch of burglaries
Burglary suspects were seen replacing a screen of a bedroom window in the 1 block of 11th Court on Aug. 26 at about 7:30 p.m., police said. The suspects were taken into custody, police said.
An unknown suspect broke into a parking structure in the 2000 block of Pacific Coast Highway Aug. 23 and stole various items, police said.
Tools were stolen from inside a locked vehicle on Hermosa Avenue and 10th Street on Aug. 18, police said.
Suspects entered a residence in the 100 block of Ardmore Avenue Aug. 24 and stole jewelry, cameras, laptops and guitars, police said.
