Chang, chang

Dear ER:

Redondo Beach school board candidate Jerome Chang really caught my eye during the last Redondo election (“Chang seeks school board again,” ER February 23, 2023). He is a highly gifted, very highly educated person, with a love of the arts, and with experience in architecture and business. I loved seeing him being his children’s piano teacher. That told me how much he values learning. With his business and design experience, he will be essential in helping manage enormous budgets, district-held properties, and facilities management. He will inspire our children, both intellectually and artistically. As a student athlete, he knows how important their physical learning is, as well. Chang will be a hands-on board member, holding regular community meetings, and participating with our children in person. I happily endorse Jerome for an even better School Board.

Dear ER:

It’s election time in Redondo Beach and I’m a huge fan of Candace Nafissi for City Council, and Eugene Solomon for City Treasurer. I have known both of these fine individuals for upwards of 10 years, and Redondo Beach is lucky to have them. These are the slow-growth candidates with a long history of being on the right side of the big issues, and showing-up for the residents at great personal sacrifice. Both have served on various City commissions and have come to learn what Redondo Beach is all about, where we have been and where we need to go! Please join me in supporting these hard working Redondo residents for these important positions. We need them.

Dear ER:

In an extremely important election on March 7 in Redondo Beach, voters will have the opportunity to vote by mail or in person District 3 councilmember. Paige Kaluderovic is the clear choice. She is intelligent, respectful, and an excellent communicator. She will handle the needs of the community and do so in a diplomatic fashion. Considering the strife that Redondo Beach has suffered in past years, we need a person of upstanding character to serve the community, and not follow their own personal agenda. She is not a member of a political action committee. She owns her own business, is a married mother of two daughters, and an AYSO coach. She earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. Her priorities include strengthening public safety by ensuring adequate funding to maintain the high level of service residents expect; enforcing traffic laws to create safer streets for motorists or cyclists; Collaborating with public safety and provide education to protect people from social media and senior scammers. She would locate the Green Line extension along Hawthorne Boulevard, not the right of way. For safer streets and reduced traffic she advocates more school crossing guards at busy intersections; safer bikeable/walkable Redondo Beach for all residents; and reducing speed limits and reevaluating left turn options during rush hours. In regards to education, she would maintain the productive relationship with our schools; and foster partnerships like the Friendship Foundation and allcove to support struggling students. In support of intelligent city planning, she would stop extreme policies that expose Redondo to court mandated land use policies; and highlight our Redondo’scharacter and provide fiscal stability for its future. Kaluderovic is endorsed by former Redondo Beach Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Steven Keller; and former Mayor of Redondo Beach, Mike Gin. These are honorable people and while they served, our community thrived. I trust their judgement and you should too.
