Manhattan Beach 10K – Best Running Race

The Manhattan Beach 10K will hold its 38th edition of the race on Saturday, Oct. 3.The race is a partnership between the City of Manhattan Beach and the volunteer Race Committee, making it one – if not the only – top-100 race in the United States without a major corporate sponsor.
“This partnership helps keep the race true to its original ‘community event concept’… that concept has been infectious since the start of the race and the enthusiasm continues through local pride, love of community and, of course, a beautiful place to run,” Manhattan Beach 10K Race Director Rachel Judson said. ”The bands, the ad free T-shirts, the festive after race expo and the many volunteers and fans who come out to support and cheer on the runners and walkers make the race a special event.”
Proceeds are returned to the community in the form of scholarships to high school seniors living in Manhattan Beach and to various enhancements to the recreation facilities of local schools and parks. — RA
