Coffee with the Mayor
Have concerns about the six-man volleyball tournament? Bring them to Mayor Richard Montgomery tonight at 7 p.m. at Peet’s Coffee & Tea on Manhattan Beach Blvd. In case you missed it, he’ll be meeting residents again this Saturday at 10 a.m. at Manhattan Bread and Bagel.
Ballroom dancing
Brush up on your salsa moves, slip on your dancing shoes, grab a partner and head to the Joslyn Community Center tomorrow night for an adults-only dance night. $7, 8-11 p.m.
Surf art
Take a break from Manhattan’s waves and explore the South Bay surf culture off shore at the Creative Arts Center’s exhibit, “Art of the Surf.” Runs July 8-August 11.
Concerts in the park
Catch U2 tribute band, Hollywood U2, in Polliwog Park on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. Concerts are free and run every Sunday evening until Labor Day weekend.
City maintenance schedule
Trash collection will be delayed by one day until July 10 in observance of Independence Day. There will be no changes to the street sweeping schedule this week. ER

Vehicle theft
Five vehicles were broken into last month in Manhattan Beach, according to police reports. An iPod and the third- row seat were stolen from a car on the 1800 block of Agnes Road. Sunglasses, an iPad and a projector were stolen from a car on the 200 block of 33rd Street. A third-row seat, clothing and an oxygen canister were stolen from a car on the 900 block of Highview. A camera and Bluetooth headset were stolen from a car on the 700 block of 33rd Street. A GPS, three cell phone cables and some change was stolen from a car on the 600 block of 35th Street.
