Manhattan Beach Police Beat

Coffee with the chiefs

The Manhattan Beach Police Department and the Manhattan Beach Fire Department are joining together to host “Coffee with the Chiefs” on July 2 at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (321 Manhattan Beach Blvd.) from 9 to 10 a.m. The idea is to let residents, in a casual setting, come and ask questions and learn about the police and fire departments.

Shoulder tap sting

MBPD, in cooperation with Hermosa Beach Police Department, conducted a day of “shoulder tap stings” on June 7 using a minor decoy, under police supervision, who stands outside stores and solicits adults to buy alcohol for them. According to MBPD, 54 adults were asked, six bought alcohol for the minor and were subsequently cited.
