Mira Costa Orchestra to grace Disney Concert Hall
Under the direction of teacher Peter Park, 117 Mira Costa students comprising the school’s Symphony Orchestra will perform Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The concert is sponsored by the L.A. Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Festival.
Mira Costa’s Symphony Orchestra was selected to participate as a premier level high school in the L.A. PHIL Youth Orchestra Mentorship Program, which connects Los Angeles-based youth orchestras with the L.A. Philharmonic teaching faculty and education staff.
The program includes works by Johannes Brahms, Remo Giazotto, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov and L.A. PHIL Composer Fellow Richard An.
Advanced tickets are available at Patterson Cleaners, Dietz Brothers Music and Pages in Manhattan Beach for a $10 donation. Free tickets are available one hour prior to the concert at the ticket table outside the main entrance of Walt Disney Concert Hall. Proceeds support Mira Costa’s orchestra program.
