Hot’s Kitchen in Hermosa Beach will host a fundraiser for the Surfrider Foundation South Bay Chapter on Sunday, July 17 from 3 to 6.p.m.
Beer will not be sold in red plastic cups Instead pints of “Pints against Plastic” of Kona beer will be served in mugs, which can be purchased for $1. Pints will be $6 ($5 refills). “Riding Giants” the biopic of the big wave riders will be screened.
Proceeds will benefit the Rise Against Plastic Programs at Redondo Union and Mira Costa high schools. Students participating in the program collect trash from the Herondo Street storm drain in Redondo and the 27th Street storm drain in Manhattan, and determining the trash’s origins. The Redondo SeaLab assists the students in analyzing the trash.
