Web robbery
An attempted robbery that began on Craigslist was stopped by police last Wednesday. According to police reports, the victims contacted the alleged robber via the website regarding the sale of a laptop computer. It was agreed to meet on the street to transact the sale. Upon arrival, the suspect pretended to have a gun. The victims gave the suspect the computer. The suspect fled in a vehicle. The victims called the police and provided a description of the event and the vehicle. A short time later, officers observed the vehicle traveling east on 190th St. A felony vehicle stop was conducted. The suspect was identified and the computer was recovered. No gun was located.
