Punks at the museum – The Hermosa Historical Museum Happy Hour with photographer Kevin Salk

The Hermosa Historical Museum was the unlikely location for a gathering of young and old punk fans on March 31. The occasion was Kevin Salk’s reading from his “Punk: Photos from a Fan’s Perspective,” and Black Flag singer Dez Cadena reminiscing about life at the Baptist Church. Salk began photographing punk bands in 1982, after his photography teacher at Mira Costa High gave him a 9 out of 10 grade for a photo he took of Black Flag singer Henry Rollins. The reading was part of the museum’s Happy Hour with history series.
