Rain doesn’t dampen AVP Manhattan Beach Open for Crabb/Sanders, Flint/Scoles

Crowd enthusiasm is wetted by ran at the AVP Manhattan Beach Open on Sunday, August 20.

Theo Brunner and Taylor Crabb battle at the net in the finals of the Manhattan Beach Open. Crabb will join his brother on the Manhattan Beach Pier Volleyball Hall of Fame after teaming with Taylor Sander to prevail in Sunday’s rain.

Taylor Sanders and Trevor Crabb are joined by Manhattan Beach Mayor Richard Montgomery and Councilman Joe Franklin after winning the Manhattan Beach Open.

Top seeded Julia Scoles, and Betsi Flint celebrate with coach April Ross, a three-time Olympic medalist, after surviving a first round loss, and coming back to win the Manhattan Beach Open on Sunday

Betsi Flint finally earned her plaque on the Manhattan Beach pier, after losing in the Manhattan Beach Open finals the past two years.

 

Julia Scoples proved she and partner Betsi Fling deserved their top seed by prevailing in the finals over Hailey Harward/Kelley Kolinske, 22-20, 21-13.
