Redondo Beach City Attorney Candidates share views at Veterans Park Library Roundtable

A roundtable discussion among City Attorney candidates in the upcoming March 4 Redondo Beach Elections was held Thursday, February 20 at the Redondo Beach Veterans Park Library. An estimated 200 people attended what was the first public event in the Veterans Park Library since it was closed five years ago for restoration work.

The City Attorney candidates are former Councilmember Steve Colin and Joy Ford, an attorney in the Redondo City Attorney office.

The City Attorney Roundtable was moderated by Redondo Beach resident and Leadership Development Consultant Marcus “Goodie” Goodloe.

Goodloe also moderated a roundtable discussion with the upcoming election Mayoral and City Attorney Candidates.

The mayoral candidates were Mayor Jim Light, eight-year Redondo Councilmember Nils Nehrenheim, former Councilmember Jeff Ginsberg, former Public Arts Commissioner Georgette Gantner, and Keep the Esplanade Beautiful founder Joan Irvine.

Candidates participating in the Council Roundtable were Council District 1 Candidates Rolf Strutzenberg and Brad Waller; Council District 2 Candidates Chadwick Castle and Luis Burke; and District 4 Candidate Zein Obagi, Jr. Council District 1 Candidate Darin King and Council District 4 Candidate Terri E. Hunt did not attend the event.

The Redondo Beach Candidates Roundtable was sponsored by the South Bay Boardriders Club, with support from BeachLife, Easy Reader and Stoked Productions.
