Redondo Beach community happenings; beaches make the grade, CERT begins

Beaches pass the test

All Redondo Beach beaches received high marks this week for beach health. Grades ranged from an A+ to B. Torrance Beach and the Redondo State Beach at Sapphire Street both received an A+. The south side of the pier received a B grade. Visit http://brc.healthebay.org/ to keep track of your local beach health.

CERT Class #47

The Redondo Beach Fire Department is currently accepting applications for the next Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class. Classes will be held September 6 until Oct. 27 at the Redondo Beach main library every Thursday evening and educates people about disaster preparedness and trains in basic response skills.
