Sexual Battery

On Sept. 17, at 1 p.m., Redondo Beach police were dispatched to the 500 block of South Guadalupe Avenue. The previous day, a victim reported sexual battery, describing the suspect. After being told the suspect had returned, an officer arrived and detained a man fitting the description. After the victim positively identified the suspect and requested he be arrested, the man was taken into custody and transported to the Redondo Beach jail.

Outstanding Warrant, Bringing a Weapon Into Jail

Police were conducting extra patrol of Veterans Park on Thursday, Sept. 19, around 9:35 p.m., when they observed a woman acting suspiciously. Upon contact, the woman allegedly showed symptoms of alcohol intoxication and was found in possession of narcotics paraphernalia and an open alcohol container. Police later determined the subject had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Police said they later discovered a knife concealed on the woman during a booking search at Redondo Beach jail.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon

A witness called police to report two men fighting near the Redondo Pier on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 1:20 a.m. Upon arriving and detaining both subjects, police learned that the two men knew each other, and that one had pushed the other down and struck him in the head with a fishing pole. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor cuts and bruises, while the suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon
