After hours construction

On Nov. 9 at 246 S. Pacific Coast Highway officers responded to the Chase Bank on three separate occasions regarding a complaint of after-hours construction noise at the location. According to a press release from the RBPD, initially the workers were advised by officers about the City’s ordinance regarding construction noise. On the second call, the workers advised officers that they were putting away their construction tools. On the third call, officers observed workers doing construction. The foreman told the officers that the workers had to finish the job “no matter what,” even if it was after-hours. Officers issued the foreman a citation for violating the City’s ordinance for allowed hours of construction.

 HazMat Spill

On Nov. 11 at the 2400 block of Marine Av. officers responded with the Fire Department to a hazardous material spill of pesticide materials at a trucking company. According to a release, employees of the business who attempted to clean up the spill were put through de-contamination procedures by the Fire Department while the Police Department maintained security of the area and conducted traffic control. One employee was taken to the hospital for further treatment. After about fours hours, the scene was rendered safe.

 Sneaky intruder

On Nov. 11 at the 300 block of N. Fransisca Av. a citizen heard noises inside her residence and woke her husband, who contacted the Police Department. According to the release, the officers determined that the residents left the garage door to the residence open when they went to bed, and that there was a door inside the garage leading to the interior of the residence. Nothing in the residence appeared to be disturbed or missing. Several hours later, the residents noticed that money was missing from a wallet. Restaurant gift cards were stolen, and multiple cans of beer were missing from the garage.    

 Manic Masturbator

On Nov. 13 at the 1800 block of Hawthorne Bl. a female parked her vehicle in a shopping center parking lot. According to a report, she saw a male adult suspect exposing himself and masturbating while looking at her. The victim notified security at the location, who in turn notified the police. Arriving officers contacted and arrested the suspect, a sex registrant, for indecent exposure in the 1600 block of Kingsdale Av.
