Car thieves
On Wednesday, Nov. 2, at approximately 7:17 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of160th St.andVargas Way, regarding four suspects breaking into cars. According to a release, responding officers located the subjects walking in the area and attempted to detain them, but the suspects fled from the officers on foot. All four of the suspects were eventually taken into custody with assistance from the Manhattan Beach Police Department. The suspects were positively identified, arrested and transported to theRedondo Beachjail for booking.

Angry Employee
On Thursday, Nov. 3, at approximately 9:14 a.m., officers responded to2005 Manhattan Beach Blvd.According to a release from the police, a business reported an employee that had made vague threats to another employee about ending his life and taking others with him. Officers arrived as the building was being evacuated, found the employee in a meeting, and he was detained without incident. No weapons were located during a search of the area. The suspect was arrested for making criminal threats and was later evaluated by mental health professionals.
Donated Detonator
On Thursday, Nov. 3, at approximately 12:38 p.m., a box of donated items was turned into the Goodwill Store in the 300 Blk. of Torrance Bl. According to a release, inside the box was an item that employees thought was a pipe bomb. A closer observation by officers was inconclusive. The LA County Bomb Squad responded and determined that the object was not a bomb but a recoil buffer for a rifle.
