Redondo Beach police are still searching for two masked suspects who robbed the Aviation Blvd Rite Aid on August 1.
According to police, the two men took approximately $675 in cash from the store’s register a well as a customer’s wallet they took at gunpoint. The pair also demanded that an employee open a manager’s door in an attempt to take the store’s safe. The employee was unable to let them into the room and give them access to the money.
While the suspects were attempting to open the door and steal the safe, another employee was able to run out of the store and call 9-1-1. Police reports said that when the employee escaped, the suspects ran as well.
Surveillance video and witnesses have identified the two men as African American. One, police said, is around 5 feet 10 inches, very thin, and had a .38 revolver handgun. The other man was shorter, around 5 feet 6 inches. They were both wearing dark clothing and ski masks. No vehicle was seen by the witnesses.
Nobody was injured during the robbery.
