CPR for dummies

Torrance Memorial offers free, hands-only CPR Training in honor of National CPR Week. Noon to 3 p.m in Lundquist Towerโ€™s south side first floor, 3330 Lomita Blvd, Torrance. No RSVP is necessary. Drop by at any time for the training, which takes less than 10 minutes. Participants will have the opportunity to practice on mannequins. FitTest

FitFest is a family-friendly event in which participants compete in a timed race to several gyms. Following that is an untimed stroll to sample free food at downtown Hermosa Beach restaurants. Registration and start/finish line at the Tim Kelly statue at the pier. Awards ceremony at 5 p.m. at American Junkie, 68 Pier Ave. Sign up at fitfesthb.com. Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Manhattan Beach Library used book sale offers books from 50 cents to $1. DVD’s from $1. Proceeds fund for children, teen, and adult programs, ย as well as book acquisition. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Manhattan Beach Library, community room, ย 1320 Highland Ave, Manhattan Beach. The front desk will accepts book donations.

Varoom, varoom

Visit the Hot Wheels Garage at the Automobile Driving Museum. Featuring life size Hot Wheels ย and numerous Hot Wheels tracks and cars to race. A face painter and a balloon artist will be available for the kids and a special Hot Wheels kid’s sundae will be offered in the new Ice Cream Station ice cream parlor from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 610 Lairport Street, El Segundo. Join the Womanโ€™s Club of Hermosa Beach for a dine out fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hermosa Beach Fish Shop, 719 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach. ย All proceeds will benefit the Education Scholarship Program.
