Spencer enjoyed 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren in Hermosa

Longtime Hermosa Beach resident Georgia Spencer passed away in January at the Hermosa Beach home of her daughter, at age 91.

Spencer was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Los Angeles, where she graduated from Dorsey High School in 1949. After attending Long Beach State and, UCLA), she taught school in the Torrance Unified School District for 25 years. Spencer was involved in many community activities, including the Hermosa Beach Historical Society and Museum and the Hermosa Beach Sister City Association. She sailed, swam, played the piano, traveled and played bridge.

Spencer was preceded in death by her husband Seldon Spencer and her two sons, George Carroll and John Carroll. She is survived by her daughter Laura Carroll Doyle, stepdaughter Shelley Spencer Kraft (Peter) and stepson Steve Spencer (Kay). She leaves behind eight grandchildren: Miranda Doyle (Mark Li), Blade Doyle (Hien Tran), Cody Doyle (Thau Tran), Sean Linn, Korina Spencer Kannedy, Nick Spencer (Jordan), Kiana Kraft and  Athena Bond (Louis Rodriguez), plus eight great-grandchildren: Max, Trent, and Riley Doyle, Clara Kannedy, Luka Spencer, Mason Raasch, Aiden Hare, and Ripley Marxen.
