Spotlight on politics – Pennyroyal Players “From Battles to Ballots”

The audience at The Warner Grand Annex.

On October 9, the Pennyroyal Players paid musical tribute to the diverse “radical women” who dared to fight for their rights in the early 1900s. The story begins in 1591 in England, and ends in Tennessee in 1920 with the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which opened the doors for women to cast their vote in the United States. Presented with an abundance of humor, this fast paced musical portrayed an account of the struggles, tragedies and victories that these heroic women faced every step of the way.
