Boardwalk Fries is opening up in spot of Mama D’s Hermosa Beach. Most food eateries are now open  for lunch to feed our summer tourists. New summer menu at The Rockefeller includes chicken and waffles. Put that on my bucket list. Café Boogaloo serves an appetizing bowl of Seafood Corn Chowder.  Looks like it would taste great.

Can’t advise about food.  I am busy trying to whittle myself into South Bay-skinny, in efforts to get asked out by someone my own age.  There are 2 really hot guys I’ve had my eye on.  I have yet to approach either one as I don’t  feel confident/skinny enough.  Gotta make sure they reject me cause of my personality, not cause I’m chubby.

Pop Physique, a ballet barre inspired workout, recently opened a studio in Redondo Beach.   First class is free when you LIKE them on facebook.  Instructor Tiffany was very sweet.

Fantastic Jesus Juice at Manhattan Fine Wines: 2009 Fèlsina  Chianti Classico.  I am not a chianti fan, but this was so worthy I chose to spend 3 days savoring a bottle, and didn’t need a pound of pasta to accompany it. $20. Wine Spectator gave 91 points.

Best Dating Advice Guru: Evan Marc Katz. Great news! A man who says you don’t have to wait 90 days to get it on. You can sleep with someone as soon as you want to, as long as you are prepared to handle the consequences of it not being a relationship in the morning. All of Evan’s advice is spot-on, every time.  It’s so straightforward, you may feel the need to buckle your seatbelt . He’s concise. Doesn’t waste time couching unpleasant information with a bunch of fluff, just because you’re a girl. Logical and solution oriented. Blunt, but not rude. Tender, but not sappy.  REAL- istic. Provides hope, as long as you can give up your plan and your list, and any arbitrary rules. Basically he tells women to alter their standards and quit having this kooky-ass fairy princess ideal in their heads about the perfect man. Even the reader comments on his blog are worthwhile.  No trolls are allowed. That’s refreshing in and of itself.  I have yet to disagree with any of his advice. Earned my stamp of approval.  Now if I could just get my girlfriends to quit whining and get onboard . . .

2012 Year of the Nice Guy

Dating tip 10: Ask out nice guys.  Quit pouting to yourself, “Nobody like me.” As my mom would say,   ”That’s a lie from the devil.”  Plenty of guys like you.  You are busy ignoring them for hot guys who, in turn, ignore you.  After all, 2012 is year of the nice guy. It is our last year on earth. Remember hot guy = mean guy. I give hot guys an automatic -2 points just to bring them down to an 8, putting everyone on a level playing field.

Faraway Fan shout-out: Camille Lambinon of France enjoyed my April interview by Sammy on the Sand. In typical Edgerton fashion, it’s Sam heavy/ Anna lite.  At times I managed to squeeze in a few words. You may wanna skip ahead  to 48:17. www.healthylife.net/RadioShow/archiveSAM.htm

June birthday shout outs: my naturally red-headed brother Benny Cox,  as well as a few nameless ex-boyfriends who  turned out not to be “the one.”

My Favorite Thing Week #22:  Roasted Yellow Beets at Mediterraneo. Even beet haters should love this salad because it’s got a mild flavor, super fresh and so healthy.

Bartender of the Week: Jason Jarema at Fusion Sushi Manhattan Beach. This Fiji born bartender with a Ukranian last name has a real story to tell about how he came to the South Bay. The flagship restaurant has the best chefs, the best music — even a karaoke room. The cocktail menu has 6 skinny drinks under 120 calories. Customer Al B says, “Jason is the most real individual you’ll ever meet.  He’s a fantastic friend!” Jason feels the best bartenders can make someone feel welcome by giving individualized attention. You can also spot him tending bar on Friday and Saturday nights in addition to working as a trainer at the HB 24 hour fitness.
