Torrance junior, Alejandro Che, wins Manhattan Beach Grand Prix race

Alejandro Che, 16, of Torrance, won the Category Three state championship at the 59th running of the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix cycling races July 24.

Restricted to “junior gearing” – which limits potential power – Che beat out a field of adult riders on the 1.3-mile course on Valley/Ardmore, in front of Live Oak Park.
Category Three represents seasoned riders, though beneath the top two categories. Category One features many professionals.

Che’s father is the owner of Sprocket Cycles in Redondo Beach.
